Poor web sites of medical colleges

Hi frens, Dont you agree that our colleges have very poor and useless sites. They seem to be non updated from many months. They are useless for common people. what a common man may want from a site. Atleast authority should provide doctors name and OPD days. Very amazingly BRD medical college dont have a web site.
KGMC site is all right that it functions. But OPD chart will add its use to common man. Moreover it should also flash various clinical weeks, going on.
Kanpur site is fast, and they have also pasted OPD chart.in total their site is very fine but font is not good. Dot com names are not good for teaching institute.It should be dot org or dot in.
MLN medical college has a all right site. But they should wake up now. They have pasted names of retired person on their board. It seems, anyhow they fulfilled the need of website.
LLRM also have dot com name. But even then congrets as atleast they have started to provide things other than PGME result.
Jhansi medical college also follows same pattern.

The life of a junior doctor

A very lovely kid somewhere in this world grows with a dream, to become a doctor one day. Always there are very sweet dreams about the coming life. He thinks, since his dreams have so much service and love for the society, so he will be treated with affection. With these notion he begins to materialise this dreams.

Of course the path to dream is not pleasent as the dream itself. One have to work hard to become a doctor. Very tough exams, one at graduate level next at PG level have to cleared to enter inside the heaven. See, how this sweet dream is going through very hard path.

Later on he meets with the real truth. He sees, what the world expects from him. What sacrifices he have to do, to become a good doctor. Slowly slowly it becomes clear, that dream is not so sweet. Moreover their is no forum where he can shout about his pain. As soon he writhes in pain, he is acuused for neglecting the sick. Mean to say, once a doctor, he looses the right to be cared as a sick patient.

It will be unjustice, if we compare a junior doctor with other doctors. Because he works under disciplined environment, like a pupil. He has to behave like a student. Once teacher orders something he has to abide by any means. JRs have to study also. Many times he meets people, who are prejudiced. Some people come with readymade complaints toward doctor community, which they made while getting treated with some outside doctors. But this poor felllow has to listen these abuses simply because he is a doctor.

A JR has to work for 16 hours a day. Many times we have to do 48 hours long continious duty. only three 15 min breaks is all he gets. In this hectic schedule he has to look calm and comfortable to his teacher. He has to be ready with answer "yes", if teacher ask for something.

Govt anounces, free service to all poor people. But no body bothers to check this claim minutely. Govt hardly provide all items for care. Moreover stock end very soon. But who suffers, either patient who is not getting free care or doctor who will be held responsible for not providing free care. Officers sit in their comfortable offices after claiming for free care. Actual thing is, stock maintenance is not doctors domain. A doctor has to order the things which he needs for treatment, it is the job of nurses to provide the thing from stock. Even nurse is not guilty if some article is not there is stock.

We people are always called as the backbone of medical college. But for something concerned with perks and salary, we are considered in last. When 6th pay commission came, it was implemented to all class of employee, only JR were not considered. Even after various remenders officers denied for any future implementation. Officers at lucknow think they are god, as they denied just to meet us. That was a funny situation, when even lower class staff earned more than JR. But govt gives no respose to such problem. They listen only when JR go on strike. At that time we are held guilty for calling strike. Society should ask these officers why they dont listen to complaints of JR before strike. It is they who should be held guilty for strike.

We are called second god. But it is a funny joke if we are treated as beggar. If society thinks we are very importent people and should not go on strike, then our problems should also be taken seriously. But perhaps strike has become the normal functioning of govt. 4th 5th 6th all pay commission were recomended only after strike. We just hope a day will come when this society will judge whether demands of JR are true. If yes, then govt will be held guilty of cultivating the strike.

We dont demand more, just not less than others. If JR becomes frustrated because of this injustice, it will harm society. Because this is a three year problem of ours but life time for society, as their tertiary level care providers are frustrated people. I think society needs happy doctors. Because only a happy person can make others smile.
